About
Capsule is KALEIDOSCOPE's new sibling publication delving into the world of design in its broader definition – one that encompasses interiors and architecture, fashion and technology, ecology and craft.
A hybrid between a magazine and a book, paying homage to a lineage of Italian radical design to explore our relationship with desire and consumption, Capsule is released annually during Milan Design Week. Indulging in a lavish physicality, Capsule is itself an object of radical design: large format, spiral bound, expansive in form and content.
Its title is an homage to the Nakagin Capsule Tower, one of the symbols of the Japanese Metabolism movement designed by Kisho Kurokawa and built in 1972 in Tokyo, which was recently disassembled to make way for new development.
Beyond print, the magazine serves as a 360° curatorial platform and creative studio, at the helm of an innovative showcase format like Capsule Plaza while also producing a clothing and home line.
